Membership Types:

Active Member:

An Active CERT Member is a trained volunteer who is committed, prepared, and ready to serve their community before, during, and after emergencies.

Active members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program:

  • Complete required FEMA training, including basic CERT courses and ongoing continuing education.

  • Participate regularly in meetings, drills, and exercises to maintain skills and readiness.

  • Respond when activated to assist professional responders during disasters and local emergencies.

  • Support community preparedness efforts through outreach, education, and special events.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and leadership while operating within CERT guidelines and the Incident Command System (ICS).

  • Maintain personal preparedness, ensuring they are ready at home so they can safely assist others when needed.​
